The Bible on Ministry First

Often times you will hear us say that church safety and security starts with a "ministry first focus". Why is this important? Because it supports the mission of the church. The Bible tells the story of salvation through Jesus Christ and how we can live our lives according to His will. One of the main themes of the Bible is that God is the primary focus, and the importance of service to Him is emphasized throughout the Scriptures. How can we live our lives in accordance with God's will and live out a life of faithful servitude? This essay seeks to explore the concept of living a “ministry first” life, as instructed by the Bible.

The Bible’s insistence on a life of service first to God can be seen from the earliest scriptures. In Genesis 1:26-27, God created man in His image and commanded him to “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.” This passage tells us that our primary purpose is to serve God and His will, not our own. This is further reinforced in the New Testament, when Jesus said in Luke 9:23, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”

Living a life fully devoted to God’s will is the only way to truly experience joy and peace in our lives. When we focus on serving Him first, we are free to live our lives free of worry and worry not about meeting the world's expectations but instead dance to the beat of God's commands. We also have the privilege of taking part in God’s redemptive mission and have a wholly desire to bring glory to Him and help spread the good news of His grace and love.

Furthermore, putting God first requires us to place value on our time and actively direct our lives in the paths He has instructed. By choosing to put ministry first, we draw closer into fellowship and communion with Christ, who is the source of our joy and peace. As we pursue His will and obey His commands, we can have the confidence that we are pleasing Him and are working according to His plan.

In conclusion, living a “ministry first” life is designed to bring us into closer relationship with Christ and help equip us to obey His will. Through our devotion to God and His Word, we are able to find joy and peace in our lives, while actively engaging in His mission of redemption. We can be sure that our lives will be filled with purpose and will glorify Him. The Bible provides us with clear instruction and encouragement on how to live a life fully committed to God and His will.
